FROM THE PORTAL
1. Open Compaction.
2. Choose a paddock if you have one mapped.
3. Enter sample name, captured time, tested depth (cm), the depth where the dial first exceeds 300 PSI, resistance in PSI or kPa, method, and an optional note.
4. Add latitude and longitude when you know them — the paddock heatmap uses them.
5. Save. The reading appears in the Compaction record and on the map when GPS is present.
THE PADDOCK HEATMAP
When a paddock has enough GPS insertions, the map interpolates cone resistance at a depth you choose (400 mm is the rooting target). Red is reserved for locations that already exceed 300 PSI at that depth. Switch to “Depth to 300 PSI” to colour by how deep roots stayed unrestricting.

FROM THE APP
Field Intelligence uploads the same fields from the Compaction tab. The phone accepts PSI or kPa, stamps GPS when available, and syncs offline the same way soil readings do. Both units are shown on the farm record.
Comparability depends on method, tip size, soil moisture and operator technique — record those in the note.
