How we handle your information
What TerraTactics collects in Field Intelligence, TerraPortal and this website — including GPS — and what you can ask us to do with it.
This is the privacy policy for TerraTactics. It covers this website, TerraPortal, TerraTactics Soil Analysis, and the TerraTactics Field Intelligence apps on Android and iOS.

TerraTactics is an Australian business. For a copy of your information, a correction, or to ask us to delete it, email hello@terratactics.com.au from the address on your account.
WHO THIS APPLIES TO
It applies if you visit the website, create an account, buy hardware or a subscription, upload a lab report, use TerraPortal, or install TerraTactics Field Intelligence.
If you work with an advisor or other partner, they can see the farm records in that workspace. This policy still describes how TerraTactics looks after that data.
WE DO NOT SELL YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell personal information, soil readings, paddock maps or location data. We do not share them with data brokers, advertisers or marketing networks. We do not use your farm record to train public models. The Field Intelligence app does not show third-party advertising.
TERRATACTICS FIELD INTELLIGENCE
Field Intelligence is the paddock app for TerraProbe readings, TerraSpike compaction tests, and FieldLab Kit colour-screen results you enter yourself.
You can use the app without an account. Linking a TerraTactics account is optional. Until you link and sync, readings stay on the phone.
LOCATION
When GPS tagging is on, the app attaches precise latitude and longitude to readings you save. That is so samples can sit on the field map in the app and, if you sync, on your TerraPortal farm record.
Location is collected only while you are using the app. It is not collected when the app is closed or not in use. It is not used to follow you around the farm in the background, and it is not used for advertising.
You can refuse location and still take readings. You can also turn off “Attach GPS to saved readings” in Settings. Readings without GPS will not appear on the map.
We do not sell location data. If you sync, the coordinates go to your own farm record on this website. They are not shared with other customers. If you later run TerraTactics Soil Analysis, we send a rounded, approximate location — never the exact paddock pin.
CAMERA
The camera is used only to scan a QR code that links the phone to your Grower portal. The scan happens on the device. We do not upload photos or videos from that scan, and we do not keep a photo library.
BLUETOOTH
Bluetooth is used to find and connect a TerraSpike. It is not used to work out where you are.
WHAT THE APP SAVES ON THE PHONE
When a TerraProbe is connected, the app stores the indicators it reads: moisture, electrical conductivity and temperature (measured), and pH, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (screened from conductivity), plus a time, and any name, depth or GPS you attach.
A compaction test stores resistance, depth, cone, times and optional GPS.
A FieldLab Kit entry stores the values you type, a time, notes if you add them, and optional GPS.
If you link the app to TerraPortal, the phone keeps a sign-in token used only for sync. Each reading has its own identifier so the same sample is not uploaded twice. We do not collect an advertising identifier.
SYNC AND UNINSTALL
If auto-sync is on, or you choose Sync, saved readings are sent to this website over a secure connection. You can keep readings on the phone only.
Readings stay on the device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes the local copy. Anything already synced stays on your account until you delete it in TerraPortal or ask us to erase the account.
WEBSITE, TERRAPORTAL AND YOUR ACCOUNT
If you create an account we collect your name, email address, password (stored as a hash, not in plain text), farm or business name, and any property, paddock, boundary, note or label you enter.
We store the soil, compaction and FieldLab records you save or sync, including GPS where you attached it.
If you upload a laboratory report, we keep the file and any values taken from it so lab chemistry can sit beside field screens.
Support messages, hardware or order details you send us, and subscription status are used to run the service.
If your account holds more than one property, you need the right to store those farm records.
SOIL ANALYSIS
TerraTactics Soil Analysis runs only when you ask for a review. Selected readings go to a specialised processor that hosts the model, with a rounded location so the review can consider climate and region — never your exact paddock pin. We do not use your paddock record to advertise to you.
PAYMENTS
Card payments are handled by Stripe. TerraTactics does not see or store full card numbers. We keep subscription status, invoices and the email needed for receipts.
NEWSLETTER AND OTHER EMAIL
We only send marketing email if you ticked a consent box. Every message includes a working unsubscribe link. Receipts, password resets, device linking and support replies are sent because the service needs them.
WEBSITE ANALYTICS AND COOKIES
The public website uses its own analytics so we can see which pages are used. A visit may record IP address, approximate country and region, browser time zone, page path, referring site, browser type, and a same-day visitor hash. Map pins from that are regional, not your paddock. This is not used to build an advertising profile.
The site uses first-party cookies so you can stay signed in, so forms stay secure, and so a visit can be placed in the right region on the analytics map. We do not set advertising cookies.
Maps in TerraPortal may load tiles from the map provider (often OpenStreetMap). That provider may see the map requests your browser makes.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use it to run your farm record and the Field Intelligence app, sync readings you choose to upload, show maps of samples you tagged with GPS, process orders and support, keep the service reliable, meet tax and legal duties, and send mail you have asked for.
We do not use Field Intelligence location data for advertising. We do not sell the data.
WHO WE SHARE INFORMATION WITH
Only as needed to provide the service: you, and people you invite into your account or advisor workspace; hosting and email providers working on our instructions; Stripe for payments; the Soil Analysis processor for reviews you start; the map provider for maps in the browser; and advisers or authorities if the law requires it.
If you installed the app from Google Play or the App Store, those stores have their own privacy policies for the store, billing and device services they provide.
We do not share your soil record with other growers. We do not share it with fertiliser companies for their marketing.
OVERSEAS DISCLOSURE
TerraTactics is Australian. Some processors, including payments and Soil Analysis, may handle data outside Australia, typically in the United States. Where that happens we take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances to protect the information.
HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION
Farm records and account details are kept while your account is open, and for a reasonable time afterwards if a subscription lapses, so you can come back to the same history. Website analytics are kept to understand site use, not to market to you from your paddock map. Payment records are kept as required for Australian tax law. If you ask us to erase your account we delete or de-identify personal information we no longer need, unless we must keep a record such as a paid invoice.
SECURITY
The website and app sync use a secure connection. Passwords are hashed. You can revoke a linked phone from TerraPortal. Tell us promptly at hello@terratactics.com.au if you think an account or phone link has been misused.
YOUR RIGHTS
You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, a correction, or erasure. Email hello@terratactics.com.au from your account address. We will confirm before an account is deleted, because deletion removes the farm record.
On a paid plan you can also export readings from TerraPortal.
If you are unhappy with how we handle a privacy complaint, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
CHILDREN
TerraTactics Field Intelligence, TerraPortal and this website are for adult farm and agronomy use. They are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@terratactics.com.au and we will delete it.
CHANGES
If this policy changes in a material way we will update this page and the date above.

TERRATACTICS FIELD INTELLIGENCE
Field Intelligence is the paddock app for TerraProbe readings, TerraSpike compaction tests, and FieldLab Kit colour-screen results you enter yourself.

LOCATION

Location is collected only while you are using the app. It is not collected when the app is closed or not in use. It is not used to follow you around the farm in the background, and it is not used for advertising.
You can refuse location and still take readings. You can also turn off “Attach GPS to saved readings” in Settings. Readings without GPS will not appear on the map.
We do not sell location data. If you sync, the coordinates go to your own farm record on this website. They are not shared with other customers. If you later run TerraTactics Soil Analysis, we send a rounded, approximate location — never the exact paddock pin.
CAMERA
